It has always been our vision to open a second therapeutic short break centre providing a tailored programme of emotional support to children diagnosed with cancer and their families.
Who We Are
32 more children and young people (age 0-24) are diagnosed with cancer every month in Ireland. This means that one family each day faces the devastating news that their child has cancer.
Cancer Fund for Children understands the devastating impact a cancer diagnosis and its treatment has on the whole family, and that beyond the essential medical care, there is a family life that needs to be rebuilt.
We provide therapeutic short breaks to children age 0-18 diagnosed with cancer and their families at our therapeutic centre Daisy Lodge, in Newcastle, Co. Down. Therapeutic breaks provide families with the opportunity to spend quality time together in a peaceful and nurturing environment, far removed from cancer treatment and hospital and to benefit from a tailored programme of therapeutic support provided by our team of Cancer Support Specialists.
However, for every family we can support, there are six more we cannot help due to the demand for our services. Therefore, we are building a second Daisy Lodge to ensure all families across Ireland get the vital emotional support they need.
