A Message from our CEO | Coronavirus Response

 In News

With coronavirus having a major impact on all our lives I would like to take this opportunity to thank you for your support and let you know how we are responding to the emergency here at Cancer Fund for Children.

Cancer, and how it affects children and their families, will not stop during this unprecedented crisis and I want to reassure you that Cancer Fund for Children is here for families during the worst, as well as the best of times.

The children and young people we support are particularly vulnerable and therefore we have made the decision to change our working practices to ensure at-risk families are kept safe.  Our therapeutic short breaks provision at Daisy Lodge have been temporarily suspended following government guidelines and we will continue to review this decision closely.

Over the next few months and beyond cancer will continue to devastate the lives of families and Cancer Fund for Children will continue to accept referrals for support. Our team will also be delivering online videos providing advice and guidance to families on how to navigate isolation and manage anxiety and stress during these uncertain times.

We know this is a difficult time for everyone right now – we are in uncharted territory and there is no-one who has not been impacted by this crisis. If you feel you can donate to us at all,

  • You can donate online here
  • Or set up a Facebook Fundraiser here

Stay safe – look after yourselves, your families and your communities.

A heartfelt thank you for your wonderful support.

Phil Alexander
