Daisy Lodge Co. Mayo
We opened our first therapeutic short break centre, Daisy Lodge, Newcastle, in 2014. In just five years, we have provided nurturing short breaks to more than 2,214 families affected by cancer from across Ireland.
Following a short break:
98% of families rated their short break as excellent
99% of families said they felt less stressed
96% of families said they were able to relax during their short break
94% of families said that spending time together was very important
We’re building our new therapeutic short break centre – Daisy Lodge, Co. Mayo – on the beautiful shores of Lough Corrib, beside Cong Village, which is nestled in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The benefits of nature and the therapeutic qualities of the scenery, fresh air and beautiful surroundings will enhance every family experience.
Progress
Our plans are being backed by professional golfer Rory McIlroy who has donated €1.2 million towards the project to help us turn our vision into a reality. We are delighted to tell you that we’re already on our way – we’ve finished the building design, received planning permission and purchased the land.
